Igor Piovano<\/strong> was born in Italy.
He danced as a principal dancer in the following companies: Teatro Nuovo Torino in 1990, Compagnia Italiana di Balletto Carla Fracci (as Carla Fracci\u2019s partner ) in 1991, the Arena di Verona (winning a gold medal at the Concours de Chiavari), Perti Virtaneen Dancers, Compagnia Veneta di Balletto, and was engaged in 1994 for 12 years in the B\u00e9jart Ballet Lausanne where he performed principal roles.<\/p>\n

H<\/strong>e has invited to teach <\/strong>for the B\u00e9jart Ballet Lausanne company and school, Terna Dance School (Italy), Dover Dance Academy (USA), Catskill Ballet Theatre (USA), Acad\u00e9mie de Danse in Florence (Italy), Balletto di Parma (Italy), Ballet du Rhin (France), Arena 225 in Zurich, Vevey Youth Ballet, for the AFJD, and for the Prix de Lausanne(Switzerland).<\/p>\n

I<\/strong>n 2001,<\/strong> he danced and acted in the film \u00abOne Last Dance\u00bb with Patrick Swayze and in 2003 he collaborated with the Paris Opera for the ballet \u00abLe Mandarin Merveilleux\u00bb. From 2001 to 2005, he was ballet master, teacher and principal dancer for B\u00e9jart Ballet Lausanne.

In 2004,<\/strong> he choreographed the performance for the overture of the International Harp Symposium.
In 2005, <\/b>the Musical Soir\u00e9e, and in 2006 Carte Blanche, the Misfortunes of Sophie and Soir\u00e9e Investec.<\/p>\n

Since January 2006, <\/strong>he was appointed as a principal video filmmaker for the Prix de Lausanne for his artistic vision of dance.<\/p>\n

In<\/strong> 2007,<\/strong> he choreographed and danced, as a principal dancer, for the GRAAP evening event \u00abBal de l\u2019Entraide\u00bb. He choreographed the Swiss Romande Lottery\u2019s 70th anniversary anniversary as well as the opening of the \u2018Portail Peint\u2019 at the Lausanne Cathedral.<\/p>\n

In 2008,<\/strong> he choreographed and was a principal dancer in the Diams gala for the Panda Ball, Le Fant\u00f4me du Ch\u00e2teau and Dentro and the Belle H\u00e9l\u00e8ne in collaboration with Kathryn Bradney for the Opera of Lausanne. He also choreographed for the European Gymnastic Championships.<\/p>\n

He was invited to teach in 2009 <\/strong>at the Tanz Akademie Z\u00fcrich.<\/p>\n

In May 2009, <\/strong>he choreographed and danced as principal dancer in \u00abLe 6\u00e8me \u00c9l\u00e9ment\u00bb at the M\u00e9tropole Theatre in Lausanne, choreographed and directed a scene for the Saint-Prex Festival (Romeo and Juliet) as well as choreographed and danced as a principal dancer for the Gala \u00abGrands Br\u00fbl\u00e9s\u00bb at the Beaulieu Thetare.<\/p>\n

In November 2009, <\/strong>he danced with the Company Igokat at the Teatro Nuovo of Turin for the second anniversary of the passing of Maurice B\u00e9jart, and was guest of honor at the 150th anniversary of the Province of Cuneo in Italy.<\/p>\n

From 2006 to 2022, <\/strong>every year he has been a jury member of the pre-selections for the Prix de Lausanne.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He is a member of Danse Suisse and is registered as a professional dance teacher in Switzerland. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In March 2010, <\/strong>danced at the opening gala of the Lugano Festival.<\/p>\n

In June 2010 and May 2011, <\/strong>he choreographed the ballet Sheherazade for the Igokat Dance Academy.

In<\/strong> 2010,<\/strong> he choreographed and danced as a principal in \u00abTais-toi et Danse\u00bb at the M\u00e9tropole Theatre in Lausanne, as well as being invited to dance as a principal for the Cinevox Junior Company gala.<\/p>\n

In May 2011<\/strong>, he choreographed and danced as a principal dancer in \u00abBD \u2013 Ballet Dessin\u00e9\u00bb at the Octogone Theatre in Pully.

In October 2011<\/strong>, he was invited to dance as a principal dancer for the gala \u00ab30 ans de la Terna\u00bb in Italy.

In November and December 201<\/strong>1, he choreographed and danced as a principal in \u00abBD \u2013 Ballet Dessin\u00e9\u00bb at the Vevey Theatre and the Octogone Theatre in Pully.<\/p>\n

In March 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015<\/strong> he is a jury member for the \u2018Sport-\u00e9tudes\u2019 audition in D\u00e9l\u00e9mont.<\/p>\n

He was committee member and is registered as a professional dance teacher in the Swiss Federation of Dance Schools (FSED).<\/strong><\/p>\n

In July<\/strong> 2012,<\/strong> he danced as a principal for the Company Igokat in the Gala opening of the festival \u2018Vignale Danza\u2019 in Italy.

In November and December 2012,<\/strong> he choreographed and danced as a principal with the Igokat Company in \u00abUne Chance, un Sourire\u00bb at l\u2019Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne and at the Marens Theatre in Nyon.<\/p>\n

In October 2013,<\/strong> he choreographed and danced as a principal with the Igokat Company in \u00abGive & Take\u00bb at l\u2019Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.

In De<\/strong>cembre 2013,<\/strong> he choreographed and danced as a principal with the Company Igokat in excerpts of \u00abGive & Take\u00bb for the re-opening of the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.<\/p>\n

He is an expert for the CFC in contemporary dance in Geneva.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In June 2014 and June 2015,<\/strong> he choreographed the ballet \u201cAlice in Wonderland in 2014 and 2015\u201d for the Igokat Academy of Dance.

In November 2014,<\/strong> he choreographed and danced as a principal dancer with the Igokat Company in \u00abVouloir c\u2019est Pouvoir\u00bb at l\u2019Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.<\/p>\n

In October and Novembre 2015,<\/strong> he choreographed and was a principal dancer with the Igokat Company in \u00abDansebook\u00bb at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.

In January 2016,<\/strong> he was a principal dancer with the Igokat Company in \u00abDansebook\u00bb at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Colombier in Neuch\u00e2tel.<\/p>\n

In December 2015, <\/strong>was engaged as the choreographer of \u201cMy Fair Lady\u201d for the Lausanne Opera.<\/p>\n

In June 2016 and June 2017, <\/strong>he choreographed \u00abCinderella au Grand Bal d\u2019Igokat\u00bb for the Igokat Academy of Dance. <\/p>\n

In November 2016,<\/strong> he choreographed \u00abRom\u00e9o cherche Juliette\u00bb for the Igokat Company presented at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.<\/p>\n

In September 2017<\/strong>, along with his wife Kathryn Bradney, he received the “Awakening Prize” from the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland.<\/p>\n

In November 2017<\/strong>, he choreographed for the Igokat Company \u201cPetrouchka le Clown\u201d presented at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.<\/p>\n

In June 2018 and June 2019<\/strong>, he choreographed “The Carnival of the Animals” for the Igokat Dance Academy.<\/p>\n

In November and December 2018<\/strong>, he choreographed \u201cIl Maestro Vivaldi\u201d for the Igokat Company presented at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.<\/p>\n

In March 2020<\/strong>, he choreographed \u201cThe Wall\u201d for the Igokat Company presented at the Center Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.<\/p>\n

In June 2021<\/strong>, he choreographed the ballet “The Nutcracker” for the Igokat Dance Academy.<\/p>\n

He is currently director of the Igokat Center, vice-president of the ASCI, production manager for the international dance competition the \u2018Prix de Lausanne\u2019 as well as a free-lance teacher, dancer and choreographer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
