Simona Tauro

An Italian-born dancer and dance teacher, Simona Tauro has built a strong classical foundation through training with renowned masters from some of Europe’s most prestigious dance institutions.

She studied classical ballet with Eliane Arditi, Annamaria Prina, Bella Raciskaia, Piera Casbeli, and Barbara Geroldi, all distinguished figures associated with La Scala Theatre in Milan or the Bolshoi Theatre.

She further expanded her artistic training in Modern Jazz with Robert Pomper (Paris Opera) and Ruben Rodriguez (National Ballet of Cuba), and in contemporary dance with Luisa Casiraghi, a former performer with the Carolyn Carlson Dance Company.

In addition, Simona has trained in flamenco, tap dance, funky, and hip-hop.

Throughout her performing career, Simona has appeared on the stages of La Scala Theatre in Milan, Teatro Lirico, Teatro Carcano, Teatro Litta, Teatro Garda, and the National Theatre of Milan.

She has also performed in several musical theatre productions, including The Butterfly Club Show in Italy and Tabaluga in Germany.

Her career has also led her to collaborate extensively with the television and audiovisual industries.

She has appeared in numerous Italian and international television productions, including broadcasts on RAI 1, RAI 2, Canale 5, and TV1, as well as in music videos for artists such as Paolo Meneguzzi, Biagio Antonacci, and Sting.

Passionate about sharing her knowledge, Simona has been teaching since 2014 at Dance Area, École Christine Koenig, and the Association de Danse Américaine – School of Leysan.

She teaches classical ballet, lyrical jazz, floor barre, creative dance for young children, and introductory dance classes. She also mentors pre-professional students and coaches dancers for competitions, including the 2025 European Jazz Championships in Bern.

Based in Switzerland, Simona holds the Swiss Youth+Sport (Jeunesse+Sport) certification and teaches fluently in French, Italian, English, and Spanish.

Her artistic excellence, international experience, and caring approach have made her a highly respected teacher, appreciated by both young students and advanced dancers.

She is currently a Classical Ballet Teacher for children and adults, as well as a Modern and Contemporary Dance Teacher at Igokat Dance Academy.
