Pauline Schopfer was born in Lausanne in 1992 and discovered dance at the age of 7 with Brigitte Roman.

She continued her training in Geneva with Geneviève Chaussat, obtained in 2003 the “Degree V” diploma from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) with distinction, and then in 2004, the “Intermediate Foundation” degree with distinction.

In 2007, Pauline was accepted into the AFJD (Association for the Training of Young Dancers), a Dance-Study course, in which she completed her compulsory education while studying dance.

In 2008, she successfully passed the audition to enter the Ecole Supérieure de Danse de Cannes Rosella Hightower (France), under the direction of Monique Loudières and then Paola Cantaluppo.
For 3 years, she trained with many international teachers and devoted herself to her baccalaureate.

In 2011 she obtained her E.A.T (Technical Aptitude Examination), U.V (Value Units) in dance history and music. That same year, she passed her baccalaureate in economics and social sciences with honors. In particular, she obtained marks of 20/20 in the sports and art dance option events. In September 2011, she joined the European Ballet in London as an intern, under the direction of Stanislav Tchassov. She took part in many shows, notably in The Nutcracker and Coppélia.

In 2011, she continued her training at the Igokat Center in Lausanne under the direction of Igor Piovano and Kathryn Bradney (former dancers and ballet master and mistress of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne) following which she danced as a soloist in the shows “Chatouille” and “Alice au Wonderland” in 2014 and 2015.

In August 2012, she worked with the company Organon and danced as a soloist in the play Pygmalion, playing the role of the statue Galathée (directed by Simone Audemars). Then, at the end of the year, she danced with the Tanztheaterpasiòn Company under the direction of Noelle Kuhn in Begegnungen, a project that was presented for three consecutive weeks in the city of Chur (Graubünden, Switzerland).

In 2013, she participated in an original Oratorio “Elie”, taken from the Book of Kings. The music, composed by Olivier Rossel, mixes dance, music and song. Pauline worked in collaboration with two other dancers to develop the choreographies which were presented throughout French-speaking Switzerland and France.

Since 2013, she has been teaching classical ballet, modern dance and stretching at the Igokat Center in Lausanne.

In October 2013, she danced as a soloist with the Igokat Company in “Give & Take” at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.

In November 2013, she danced as a soloist with the Compagnie Octavio de la Roza in “Want to dance Gainsbourg” in Avignon (France).

In December 2013, she danced as a soloist with the Igokat Company in excerpts from “Give & Take” for the reopening of the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

In August 2014, she became an instructor for “Jeunesse & Sport” Switzerland in the disciplines of gymnastics and dance.

In October and November 2014, she danced as a soloist with the Igokat Company in “Vouloir c’est Pouvoir” at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.

In March 2015, she became an instructor for “Jeunesse & Sport” Switzerland for children in the disciplines of gymnastics and dance.

In October and November 2015, she danced as a soloist with the Igokat Company in “dansebook” at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.


In December 2015 and January 2016,
she was hired as a dancer for the Opéra de Lausanne in “My Fair Lady”.

In January 2016, she danced as a soloist with the Igokat Company in “dansebook” at the Théâtre de Colombier in Neuchâtel.

In July 2016, she was soloist with the Comapgnie Octavio de la Roza in “Do you want to dance Gainsbourg” at the Festival off d’Avignon (France).

In November 2016, she was a soloist with the Igokat Company in “Romeo seeks Juliet” at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.

In November 2017, she was a soloist with the Igokat Company in “Petrouchka” at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.

Since September 2018, she has been a soloist for the Croisières TUI Cruises – Mein Schiff shows.

In September 2019, she participated in the Tedx Lausanne event where she choreographed and danced her own solo on the theme of limits at the Théâtre de l’Octogone in Lausanne.

In September and October 2019, she danced with the company Etat de Corps in Paris in the show “Au fil de l’eau” choreographed by Julie Magneville and produced at the Geneva Arena.

In March 2020, she was principal dancer with the Igokat Company in “The Wall” at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.

In October 2021, she was principal dancer with the Igokat Company in “L’Hymne à la Joie” at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux in Lausanne.

She is currently a dancer with the Compagnie Igokat, dancer, teacher and freelance choreographer.
